Have you ever developed a detailed plan and schedule and then have an unexpected positive result happen? Well, a milestone in our agile learning process called Realize Academic Success Through Tutoring (RASTT) schedule was the Winter Mid-term assessment testing, since we had just started tutoring in November, we thought it would be too early for an impactful result.
We guessed wrong!
Three of the original 5 children that started tutoring with MFCE improved their scores by an average of 30 points!!
We believe that through RASTT not only have we improved the mathematics skills of the children but have also built up their confidence in taking tests.
BUT, we are not satisfied. We want 100% positive growth from our children and the remainder of our schedule through late May 2024 is to teach testing skills, increase confidence building, continue to build on their grade-level mathematics foundation, and practice SOL type assessment categories.
We need your help!
A donation to MFCE will provide funding for programmatic costs associated with executing our plan to improve the mathematics and test taking skills and keep our goal of improved SOL Assessment scores on track.
These children are the first to ever miss significant in-class learning due to the pandemic and need our help to catch up.
The 2022/2023 Standards of Learning (SOL) scores showed in Math, two thirds of all 3rd through 8th graders (327,598 students) are at risk or failed the SOL Assessment.
MFCE is working to ensure we do not let the next generation of children fall behind academically, so our goal is to provide continuity in learning processes and provide a free tutoring program that affords children the extra academic support needed to catch up and become superstar students.
A donation in any amount is greatly appreciated. Please donate today!
