Good morning all current and future My Favorite Charity Events (MFCE) Santa’s Helpers!
It is hard to believe summer is over, and now it’s time for Bob and me to begin preparing for our 7th year of the 2026 Christmas for Kids (CFK) Program.
It has been an interesting year, and the need to support more Cooke Elementary School children and their families is greater than ever. We have counted on our most gracious Santa’s Helpers, and time and again you have come through for us.
This year we are asking again for your support, and please feel free to send this message to friends and family members of yours that might want to be part of this gratifying experience. The impact CFK has had on the families we have supported over the last 6 years is unfathomable. This is borne out by the number of times we have heard “without these presents my child/children would not have had a Christmas.”
Since the beginning, our mission has always been that no child should go without Christmas, and we have strived to make the largest impact we can to meet this mission goal. Because of you, we have not missed the mark. We have made a wonderous Christmas morning for over 200 children.
If you are able to join MFCE in providing toys and clothing for a group of wonderful and deserving school-aged children, please let us know that you will join us in making the holidays merry and bright for our kids.
Please include if you are able to support:
1) a family with one child;
2) two children;
3) provide a single gift;
4) you prefer to make a financial contribution through our Stripe secured website portal.
Please respond by November 14, 2026, so we can inform Cooke Elementary School of how many families we can support this year. The current planned schedule with Cooke is to receive the family gift information before Thanksgiving, forward the family’s lists to Santa’s Helpers immediately, and then deliver all gifts to the school on December 17th.
To children, Santa Claus is a wonderful and mysterious person who brings joy and happiness on Christmas morning. To Bob and me, we know our Santa’s Helpers are you, the wonderful and mysterious people who truly make Christmas morning a Christmas to remember.
Thank you again and again to our current Santa’s Helpers for your generosity and continued support, and to all the new Samta’s Helpers, we want to express a very warm welcome. We are sure that you will find CFK a rewarding and worthwhile cause.
We are thrilled to announce that My Favorite Charity Events (MFCE) Organization will again be sponsoring our Annual Christmas for Kids Program this year. This beloved tradition continues to support the children at Cooke Elementary School and their siblings, filling the holiday season with hope and joy for many families in our community.
We are once again asking all our Santa’s Helpers to support the Christmas for Kids Program. We understand this has been a trying year for everyone, we also know this is an extremely critical year for the families we support as they likely have to decide on buying Christmas presents or putting food on the table or keeping heat in the house on. Your generosity for the last 5 years has brought smiles, warmth, and cherished memories to the students and families who need it most. We are hopeful that you will once again support this worthy cause and that Santa’s radar will once again find its way to Sweet Virginia Beach, bringing a happy and wondrous Christmas morning to our kids.

To everyone who has provided support in past years, we so appreciate your generosity and goodwill. What you do for the spirit of these kids cannot adequately be expressed, so we do our best by saying to our generous Santa’s Helpers “thank you for your kindness and continued support.”
Christmas for Kids (CFK) is a grassroots program, and we can’t thank our family, friends, and neighbors enough for being so generous year after year.
Without their support, CFK would not be the success it is today. We would also like to thank the International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) District Council of Hampton Roads in Norfolk, ILA Local 1248, and Oceanfront Dentistry for their generous donations in support of the CHK’s program.
Mr. Turner has worked as an educator for over a decade, first as a full-time Kaplan tutor before shifting into the public-school setting. Mr. Turner originally provided New York City public schools with SAT and ACT tutoring programs on behalf of Kaplan test prep. Since moving to Virginia Beach with his wife and daughter in 2015, Mr. Turner has taught, tutored, and coached students at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. He has provided Applied Behavioral Analysis (ABA) therapy to students with autism ranging in ages from 3-16. As a special education teacher with Norfolk Public Schools, he taught a group of 3rd and 4th grade students with Emotional Disabilities. Through the coordinated support of families, co-teachers, and supportive administration, his team of students (dubbed the “SuperDolphins”) achieved a collective SOL pass rate of over 80 percent. Mr. Turner currently works as a Special Education teacher at Green Run High School in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and believes strongly that relationship-building and play-based learning are the foundations of academic recovery and long-term success.
